Briefing: Open Smart Grid Platform - Open Source IoT For Large Infrastructures

Learn how the OSGP approach to IoT ensures independence between physical infrastructure (including Smart Devices) and IT applications

Recorded: 22 Feb 2016

Webinar Overview

As a utility we have an interest to move things into commodity since this leads to lower variation, lower costs and more market choice. Openness drives this evolution and by making software open source and building and a community around it, we try to speed up the market adoption and pave the way to make the software a commodity!

The open smart grid platform (OSGP) is an open source generic IoT platform built for organizations with large scale infrastructure & networks. Utilities are a prime example of this and Alliander currently uses the OSGP as key element in a solution which allows municipalities to control public lightning.

In this session you will learn how; the OSGP approach to IoT ensures independence between physical infrastructure (including Smart Devices) and IT applications; and how you can, through this independence, begin reaping benefits at speed and at scale.

Key technical features of this approach will be discussed along with routes to entry as we warmly welcome everybody to embrace the OSGP and join the development process.
