Joachim Gruber joined EnBW Group in 1999. Until 2008 he worked in several positions for the IT department and the COO office. From 2008 to 2011 he participated in the ExPat program of EDF Group. As a manager at EDF SA (France) he was responsible for the IT-Hardware Procurement Strategy. From 2008 until 2011 he worked again for EnBW Holding. During the governmental hearings for the “cost-benefit- analysis” of the smart-meter roll-out he was the spokesperson of EnBW. He coordinated the Smart Meter activities throughout the group. Since February 2017 he is in the staff of the managing director technic of NetzeBW, with 2.3 Mio customers the major DSO of EnBW Group. He is representing the company in associations such as BDEW, FNN, Eurelectric and EDSO for Smart Grids. He is co-author of BDEW’s “traffic-light- concept” and co-writer of several articles on flexibility management and incentive mechanisms.
