Nowadays, the energy transition is rising the uncertainty of the power system (higher RES integration, electric cars, distributed energy resources, etc) which increases the complexity of the operational and planning processes.
Because most popular deterministic methodologies are more and more limited, the stochastic optimisation methods should be developed. In this lightning talk, Dr. Karol Wawrzyniak will present a solution that allows to incorporate stochasticity in Transmission Expansion Planning processes. The solution helps TSOs to optimise grid investment processes taking into account various uncertainty factors like future mix scenarios or weather influence. The first deployment of this approach has been completed by polish TSO - PSE S.A.
