At the annual Siemens Smart Grid Software Leadership Conference, we identify utilities that have led the way in providing smart grid technologies to their customers. These pioneers have chosen to install solutions before many others in the industry, proving that inventive technologies can make a significant difference to a utility’s business model and their customer experience.

This year, we presented the City of Fort Collins with the Innovation Award. We are proud to recognize Fort Collins’ efforts to address business and consumer challenges head on by signing up to go live with Energy Engage Mobile, a mobile customer facing portal that allows customers to see and control their energy usage. The utility committed to a new product in the field and worked diligently with the Siemens product team to develop a world-class solution. Fort Collins recognizes the importance of giving their customers the ability to access usage information via an easy-to-use mobile interface, paving the way for other utilities across the U.S.

We also recognized JEA with the Lifetime Achievement Award. This utility has made a significant business and technological transformational change within its organization, and has been driving that change within the industry. JEA’s IT and engineering teams have been working to integrate their Oracle CIS, EnergyIP meter data management system, CGI Mobile Workforce Management System, and Landis + Gyr metering system to seamlessly automate the connect/disconnect meter process. They have been a true pioneer in the field of meter data management and are well deserving of this recognition.

Congratulations to all of our recipients of this year’s Siemens Smart Grid Software Leadership Conference Awards. We are continually proud to work with pioneers in the utility industry who are helping make smart grid a true reality worldwide.
