Brazil has entered Ernst & Young’s top 10 list of most attractive countries for renewable energy investment for the first time, up 1 place from the previous quarter and up 8 places from the same quarter last year.

Terence Creamer of the Engineering News writes that South Africa intends to secure 3,725MW from renewable energy sources from Independent Power Producers (IPPs) by 2016. The first round of bidding saw the announcement, by South Africa’s Energy Minister Dipuo Peters, of 28 successful renewable energy independent power producer (IPP) bidders.
